Terms and Conditions
Last updated:
These terms and conditions apply to all removals, packing and storage services provided by Next Removals ("we", "us", "our") to the customer ("you"). By confirming a booking with us you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Quotes and bookings
- Our quotes are free and are based on the information you give us. A quote is valid for 30 days unless we tell you otherwise.
- We may change the price if the work turns out to be different from what was described, for example if there are more items, access is more difficult, or we are delayed by events outside our control such as waiting for keys.
- Your booking is confirmed once we have agreed the date and price with you in writing (including by email or WhatsApp) and received any deposit we have asked for.
2. Cancellations and postponements
- You can cancel or postpone your move free of charge up to 7 days before the agreed moving date.
- If you cancel or postpone between 7 days and 48 hours before the moving date, we may charge up to 50% of the quoted price.
- If you cancel or postpone less than 48 hours before the moving date, we may charge the full quoted price.
- If we have to cancel because of circumstances outside our control, we will offer you a new date or a full refund of anything you have paid.
3. Payment
- We will tell you the price and how to pay when you book. We do not take payment through this website.
- Unless we agree otherwise in writing, the balance is due on or before the day of the move, before unloading is completed.
- If payment is late, we may charge interest on the overdue amount and may keep hold of goods in our possession until payment has been made.
4. Your responsibilities
To help your move run smoothly, you agree to:
- give us accurate information about what is being moved and about access at both addresses, including stairs, lifts, narrow doorways and long carries
- arrange suitable parking for our vehicle at both addresses, including any permits or parking suspensions, and pay any parking charges or fines that result from parking where you have asked us to
- be present, or have someone there on your behalf, at collection and delivery
- pack your belongings properly if you are packing yourself, and empty, defrost and disconnect appliances before we arrive
- remove or keep with you all money, jewellery, important documents and other valuables
5. Items we do not move
Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, we will not move or store:
- dangerous, flammable or explosive items, including gas bottles, paint, fuel and fireworks
- illegal goods of any kind
- money, jewellery, watches, precious metals, deeds and similar valuables
- plants, pets or any other living thing
- perishable food or anything likely to attract vermin or cause damage
6. Liability and insurance
- We take great care of your belongings and hold goods in transit and public liability insurance. Details of the cover are available on request.
- If we lose or damage your goods through our negligence, our liability is limited to the cost of repairing or replacing the item, up to the limit of our insurance cover, taking into account its age and condition.
- We are not liable for loss or damage caused by normal wear and tear, by items you have packed or dismantled yourself, by pre-existing or inherent defects, or to items listed in section 5.
- We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as traffic, severe weather, vehicle breakdown or delays in the release of keys.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
7. Claims
- Please check your belongings at delivery and tell our team straight away about any visible loss or damage.
- Claims must be made in writing within 7 days of delivery, with a description of the problem and, where possible, photographs.
- We will investigate every claim fairly and reply as quickly as we can.
8. Storage
If we store goods for you, storage charges are payable in advance. We will give you reasonable notice of any change to our storage charges. If storage charges are unpaid, we may, after giving you written notice, sell or dispose of the goods to recover what is owed.
9. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply.
